One of the Youngest Sound Engineer in India: Snigdhadeep Nag

Snigdhadeep Nag is a talented musician, arranger, drummer, and sound engineer from Kolkata, India. He has established himself in the industry with his skills and passion for music, both nationally and internationally. Nag’s musical journey began at an early age when he started learning tabla under his father’s guidance, Dr. Shubhadeep Nag. Later, he switched to drumming and percussion and became a professional drummer, honing his skills over time.

Nag has worked with renowned artists such as Rupankar Bagchi, Lopamudra Mitra, Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty, and Bollywood stars like Arijit Singh, among others. Nag’s expertise in sound engineering is equally impressive. He has worked as a studio engineer for Pandit Bickram Ghosh and has contributed to the Bengali Film Industry as a mixing and mastering engineer. Nag has also recorded and mixed over 500 songs in the past four years at his home studio and in the industry. In 2017, Nag’s band, Crossroads, received nominations for the Mirchi Music Awards, proving his versatility as a musician. 

With Maestro Bickram Ghosh, Nag has worked as a recording engineer for numerous films and as a mixing and mastering engineer for albums and songs. Some of the notable projects he has worked on include Mahananda, Mayakumari, Karna Subarnar Guptodhon, Tirandaj Shabor, and Byomkesh Hatyamancha. Nag has collaborated with various artists from the Bollywood and Bengali music industries, including Hariharan, Rashid Khan, Shaan, Sonu Nigam, Anoushka Shankar, Ricky Kej, Purbayan Chatterjee, EPR, Rajhesh Vaidhya, Rasika Shekhar, Zafar Ansari, Amit Kumar, Iman Chakraborty, Timir Biswas, and Ujjaini Mukherjee, among many others.

Nag’s contribution to the National Republic Day Project, “Vande Bharatam,” under the direction of Maestro Bickram Ghosh, Grammy-winning composer Ricky Kej, and the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, as a recording and mixing engineer, is noteworthy. Nag is certified under Harman and Protools as a Protools Specialist, which showcases his technical knowledge in the field of sound engineering.

Presently, Nag is working as a faculty of Sound engineering at the prestigious Media College Seamedu at its Bangalore campus under CMR University.
